Biography

Osama bin Mohammad Ali Al-Romani was born in Damascus on Friday, July 3, 1942, into a Shiite family. The family name “Al-Romani” traces its origins to the village of Kafr Rumman in the Jabal Amel region of Lebanon. In 1979, he joined the Joint Program Production Institution in Kuwait, where he worked on numerous television series and children’s programs, most notably *Iftah Ya Simsim* and *Salamatak*. He remained in Kuwait for more than 40 years before deciding to end his long period abroad and return to Damascus approximately one year before his death.
